The Waukesha County Food Pantry opened at their new location on Sentry Drive this week. I lent a hand in the Saturday move. I'm familiar with the place, which is good, because it probably won't be long before I'm there for another reason.
My pay for 40 hours of work is $60.00 less take home than unemployment. By working full time I lose all unemployment. When I interviewed for the job I was told it paid more than when I was offered the job. If I refuse work I also lose all unemployment. Could you live on little more than $300.00 a week?
I'm not complaining. Glad to have a job where I can use my skills and gain new ones. But I just worked three weeks for an $860.00 vet bill. Glad to still have the dog with us, but with the tumor, possible cancer, him not eating and drinking enough . . .
The thing that really impressed me about ODW Logistics was the community service and involvement mentioned on the website. Someone like me appreciates that. Of all the places I applied this is the only one I ran across that mentioned volunteering. I'll feel better, and mention it, when I see it. If I don't see it I'll do my best to make it happen.
have a nice day
