I'm really scrooged now!

Had a rotten night tossing and turning. Nary a wink did I sleep thanks to visits by ghosts of Christmases past, present and future.

There was only one lucky winner of all the nice gifts donated by the 22 Downtown Waukesha businesses participating in Bah! Humbug! Weekend. Once I determined the raffle wasn't rigged in my favor I embraced my new title: Waukesha Scrooge of the Year.

This new Waukesha event was designed to encourage traffic downtown on the busiest shopping weekend of the year. Locally owned businesses are working hard to attract us. Odds in the raffle were favorable because, apparently, not enough people heard about Bah! Humbug! Weekend. I participated because, I have to admit, I sometimes need incentive to try new places.

I gathered 20 of thirty-one total points, or 8 more than I needed to enter the raffle. Only one business I visited was packed and another nearly so. I didn't announce "Bah! Humbug!" at those, so no points. Two places I visited weren't yet open on Saturday afternoon. Many of the "points" were dollars or percent off cards toward goods or services. We were able to keep the "points" once we entered the raffle.

Half the pool table at M2 was full of "white elephant" gifts and certificates, most of them with quite a bit of value actually. We enjoyed delicious Magellan's pizza supplied by Waukesha Tattoo and listened to a live country band while waiting for the raffle to be drawn.

All the gifts are truly appreciated, with quite a bit of variety among them. There were certificates from Clarke Hotel, Moxie Beauty Lounge, Divino Gelato, Waukesha Tattoo, Sloppy Joe's and others, and nice gifts from many more. I can't wait to try / taste / use them all. Especially looking forward to dinner at D Mo's and a one night stay at Clarke Hotel.   A complete list of prizes can be found here. Ronsta of Bike Waukesha fame took additional photos which can be viewed here.
