"Spit in your shoe."
It was Mom's answer to "What can I do" when I was a young lad. I often asked the question when no brothers were around to play with. I thought she was a little strange. It shut me up. Didn't realize until years later she was just messing with me by rhyming.
If you enjoy shopping for good bargains on gently used clothes and other items there's plenty of opportunity: Besides the opening of the new St. Vincent thrift store Saturday, the St. William Spring Rummage Sale will be concluding with a $4.00 fill a bag sale.
TheMother of all Art Crawls will be open for business in Downtown Waukesha this Saturday as also the season opening of this year's Waukesha Farmer's Market, promising to be bigger and better. Plenty of food, entertainment, art . . . even pink ribbon tattoos, face painting, massages and pink hair extensions. . .
Did I mention Retzer's Spring Native Plant Sale?
Hopefully the weather will be nice because the 2011 RiverWalk for Breast Cancer is Saturday, as is the Annual Pet Walkathon for H.A.W.S..
If nothing else, you can always see how the recount is going at the Waukesha Courthouse.
As for me, I'll be helping at the Waukesha Food Pantry and going to a birthday party.
There will hardly be time to "spit in my shoe" this weekend. Sunday is Mother's Day. Hopefully I can give Mom something to do so she won't always be so bored. Maybe clean out her shoes? It's the least I can do.
