I Will Always Love You
With Whitney's untimely and tragic passing Saturday we watched the Grammys to hear tributes to an amazing woman.
Surprisingly, but most appropriately, LL Cool J opened the show with a somber prayer. Appropriately, maybe not PC, but she had to have been on everyone's mind. Her life and death must have made a huge impact on their lives.
I know her life affected Geraud Blanks more than others. I came across his heart-warming letter to Whitney this morning.
We heard a few, but expected more tributes or comments at the Grammys about Whitney. Jennifer Hudson did perform Whitney's I Will Always Love You. I thought it was good, but really wanted to hear her hitting the notes like Whitney did. Was hoping someone could sing that song almost as well as Whitney could.
Coincidently, we saw Amber Riley sing the same song last night on Glee for their Valentine's Day episode. I should say unbelievably we heard Amber sing I Will Always Love You, because she was perfect! She hit all the notes I was hoping Jennifer would've and sounded a lot like Whitney. Of course, the show was taped a month ago so it was pure coincidence about the timing.
I will always love you Whitney. RIP
