I went to opening day of the St. William Fall Rummage. Very unusual of me. Most often I'll wait till the last minute to take advantage of the deep discounts, but this time I was looking for specific things for Tam and valued selection over savings for once.
Of course I had to have for myself the first thing I saw. Even though I don't paint or draw, I had to have the paint set for $25.00. Lots of new tubes of paint, a tin of colored pencils, bunch of nice paintbrushes... all contained in a portable easel. Some day I wouldn't mind trying a little artistic expression and for twenty-five bucks what've I got to lose?
I could've taken a chance and waited a few hours for the half price sale Friday, but I wouldn't have gotten there until after five. Instead I took a chance and bought it, then looked it up online. My set of 36 brand new watercolor pencils alone sell for $60.00 on Amazon. Amazon also offers my new easel set used for $110.00, but I was able to find it elsewhere new for $55.00. Obviously I'd never pay those prices for something I wouldn't mind trying someday, but for a minimum savings of $90.00 over retail...
The entire gym is packed with rummage. We were able to find many new items still in packages. Even though the pre-rummage information stated "no TVs" there was one, with a five dollar price tag! It still amazes me you can buy a working color TV for that, and only $2.50 on Friday! Two- fifty doesn't get you much these days, but you can still get a working color TV!
Check it out. Half price Friday and fill a bag for $5.00 Saturday. Plenty of bargains left.
