The weekend weather was even nicer than last week's, if that's possible, with more of the same to come this week. Enjoy it while you can.
The Friends of the Poor Walk was a beautiful thing. So many people taking time out of their busy lives to help folk less fortunate than themselves. I don't know how many came out to enjoy Saturday's perfect weather and good fellowship at St. William's, but there had to have been at least 150 walkers. Plenty of good food was prepared by Catholic Financial Life and enjoyed by all. No one got bee stung or fell down as during past walks. As a matter of fact, there's little more I could've hoped for. Perfect weather, good turnout, decent sermon and blessing to start us off, lots of sponsors, plentiful refreshments... Even the silent auction table, which we tried for the first time this year, had a fair amount of items with each receiving at least one bid.
It's so important to thank everyone involved, and everyone who joined us was involved, however Ruth Anne did and has done more than any other for all six walks organizing everyone and everything. I'd never be able to thank Ruth Anne enough for all she's done for Waukesha's poor. She's a true blessing. And to Ruth Anne for sharing her special day with us... Happy Birthday!
