not walkin the blog

Been too busy driving further, working harder, longer and for less pay to take blog for regular walks lately. Just as well, Sir Fido got his hair cut and doesn't want to spend a lot of time out in these temps anyway. I put in around 70 hours last week, including Saturday and Sunday, with no extra pay for the overtime. If I sound like I'm complaining it's only because all last week I was also fighting a cold. With all the layoffs I've seen of people more capable than me, I'm just happy to have a job - any job.

I've been taking the freeway lately because the frost heaving on Hwy. K was giving me a headache driving on it. So I don't quite mind so much leaving early and staying late if it helps to avoid rush hour traffic.

Stopped in by Best Buy today to pick up two digital TV converter boxes and to take advantage of a price guarantee. The price guarantee was for a computer we purchased a month ago which has been selling for $20.00 less ever since. When I called after buying it I was told they would refund the difference up to a month later. Was hoping it would come down even more but never did.

When I applied for the price guarantee today, just shy of the month, was told it didn't apply to laptops. No problem, seeing as it wasn't a laptop we purchased. Supervisor came over and even she couldn't explain why system wouldn't allow refund of the $20.00. Finally it was determined any computer comes with only a two week price guarantee. It's possible that I didn't go into great detail about the item we purchased when I called, but I was told there was a thirty day price guarantee, period. I suspect that if there were exceptions to the guarantee this person didn't know it, the gal at customer service didn't know it and her supervisor didn't know it.

Other than mentioning that Superbowl XLIII was as good as, if not better than, the commercials, this is about all I have. Which were your favorite commercials? Did you like the LMAO one? And whatever happened to all the Miller ads? I saw just one.
