Beer Choices for Summer

With the un-official beginning of summer being marked with the Memorial Day weekend, we can look forward to the warm days.  Of course with the weather we are having it is hard to tell if it is summer or fall.  Anyway here are some interesting choices for summer beers if you are looking to be summer like:

1. Leinenkugel Summer Shandy- A perfect summer beer

2. Blue Moon Honey Moon- A smooth ale for the hot days ahead

3. Sam Adams Summer Ale-made with Grains of paradise

4. Sierra Nevada Summerfest- A light tasting beer from Chico California.

5. Sierra Nevada Kellerweiss- A new beer availible year round from California that will be availible in the next 2 weeks.  A refreshing choice for Weiss drinkers.

6. Capital Wild Rice- Summer seasonal from this Middleton, WI brewery.

7. Point Nude Beach Summer Wheat- The name says it all.

8. Bell's Oberon Ale-A great beer from this Michigan brewery.

9. Tyranena Scurvy- A unique beer from Lake Mills, Wisconsin.

A few choices to enjoy.  As always let me know your favorites and I will put together a best of list.

Cheers!

  1. New Belgium Brewery finally brought Wisconsin its famous brew Fat Tire. Working in the beverage industry for over 7 years, I have heard the question asked many, many times of when are we going to carry Fat Tire (or Flat Tire like most people think it is). Well it's finally here (great stock of it at Fox Run Sentry Liquor (shameless plug!)) I have yet to try the Fat Tire, but I did take it upon myself to try New Belgium's Mothership Wit and if you have ever had Sweaty Betty from Boulder Beer Co, Boulder Colorado, you will enjoy this. I can't wait for the 6-packs to come in, but the bomber (24 oz).bottles right now are growing on me. Great Summer Style Wit beer that is really refreshing and full of flavor.
  2. Oh and you beer reviews are really lacking. ie... "Leinenkugel Summer Shandy- A perfect summer beer"
Yeah if you like the taste of Lemonaid flavoring and Leinies Honey Wiess

I figured if you're going to have the title of "Beer Guy" you should at least change it to "W.O.W. Biased Beer Guy"
  3. How about Sprecher Micro Light...I like how all the beers you reccommend are distributed by WOW.
  4. I think that for Beers that people love - they should really trust their own palate (even for the summer). I came across Beer Universe (http://www.beer-universe.com) which allows you to rate beers and then get recommendations - like Netflix. It was actually pretty good and I've been happy with the results. So rate more summer beers if you want them to recommend it and just see the magic begin.
