not another big fish story

Been reading Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms since picking up a complimentary copy at the Big Read Opening Celebration at the Farmer's Market. Before I got started, though, I gleaned a little background on the book from a panel discussion at the County Museum. What could have been a boring discussion was actually quite lively, given the topic: Hemingway's Women. Four professors informed us as to the meaning of the book, politics of the day, Hemingway's four wives and how his writing mirrored his life. The old courtroom was at capacity and there was plenty of audience participation.

There will be several opportunities to see the 1932 film based on the book, but if you can't make it there you can watch it here. The movie is black and white...  I'll just stick with the book.
