recycling, branches, shot, TV
I'll be heading off to Milwaukee Lutheran in just a bit to watch Nick put the shot at a varsity track meet, but before I go I want to mention a couple things.
Where are all the branches? An elderly long-needle pine in our yard, but close to the lot line and street, lost a couple dozen long, thick branches in the first large, wet snowfall of winter last year. I was planning on cutting them up and putting them by the street for the annual branch pick up. Last night there was no sign of them at all. Nothing. Family said a chipper was seen grinding it all up. Who paid for it? Our neighbor? A big thank you! Wasn't looking forward to all the sap.
Two years ago Nick saw a large TV and glass-fronted TV stand in good condition by the side of the road. The thing probably weighed close to 200 pounds, but we got it inside. Of course, there's a reason people throw out TVs that might look good on the outside. So here this thing sat, taking up space. "Maybe I can fix it."
Finally got rid of the set this morning at Goodwill's newest Waukesha location during their TV Recycling Drive. Goodwill is on Meadow Lane behind the Silvernail McDonald's on Waukesha's northwest side. The drive runs to 8:00 p.m. today, Saturday, March 27th.
Besides mentioning our street now looking might fine after a sweeper passed through, thank you, that's about all I have time for. Have to get to the meet.
