Plan for a Great Waukesha Summer!

Community, Community Happenings, Observations

With Spring poking its' head out, it is time to look forward to Summer and all the Waukesha area has to offer.

Start with it's lakes. If you have or know someone who has a boat - use our area lakes. They are a tremendous natural resource, and there is nothing more restful than letting a light breeze drift you across the water. Fishing, skiing, wakeboarding, twilight cruises....Hmmmm - The Best! Plan your time accordingly: Most lakes are fairly busy after 11am on weekends. Get out on a weekday and you will have large expanses of open water and serenity.

Waukesha Downtown continues its' burgeoning growth in hospitality with new restaurants opening every few months. Some are replacements with a new faces and menus. Others are fresh starts who sense a Downtown revitalization as an opportunity for both diner as well as owners. Most are reasonably-priced with good parking nearby. Weekends you will be welcomed by music and the cacophony of groups of people having a fun time.

Look for the church festivals as well as the County Fair and more. Music, food, libations, great company - something for everybody nearly every weekend somewhere in Waukesha.

Want some free and fun family entertainment Wednesday nights? Head over to Frame Park and catch the Badgerland Water Ski Show. Performances are staged by one of the Country's premier Water Ski Show Clubs and include lumping, pyramids, barefooting, water ballet and a stage show which is always "F" for "Family" rated. And while you are at Frame Park, try to take in a local high school baseball game.

Fellow WaukeshaNow bloggers Brien Lee and Curt Otto do an outstanding job of unearthing Downtown nuggets of information and points of interest throughout the year. Check out their prior blogs for some info and follow them through this new year. For a full calender of Downtown Events, bookmark the Waukesha Downtown  website and you will unquestionably find things to do all year long.

There are countless other opportunities for Summer Fun in the Waukesha area. Thinking about them now just makes Summer seem a little bit closer!

  1. Thanks for the plug, Jay. Looking forward to the ping pong uh, table tennis, Nationals this weekend at Center Court Sports Complex. It's a first for Waukesha and, at only $5.00/day to spectate, a reasonable price for the experience. Thanks for all you do.
