Summer's Last Hurrah
It's August. Already! Where did summer go? That's a question we ask a lot, isn't it? Every year, in fact.
June eases us into summer. Vacations are planned, school is dismissed and there we are; enjoying the sweet smells, sounds, sights and tastes of summer when all of a sudden, like slamming on the brakes - there's August. Maybe we haven't noticed it because it's the month that creeps up on us while July passes in a scramble of activity. Whatever the reason for the question, August is a mixed bag. It's like emotional sweet/sour sauce. It's the month we still feel summer's caressing warmth, while denying the brush of autumn's hand.
