The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in conjunction with the Milwaukee Area Developmental Disabilities Service Association (MADDSA) has recently announced the award winner for the Milwaukee County’s 2011 Caregiver of the Year. Susan Klawien, Easter Seals Activity Personal Care Coordinator, was recently awarded this prestigious award on behalf of her dedication as a caregiver over the last ten years.

Don Natzke Receives National Award for His Advocacy of Individuals with Disabilities

The Easter Seals’ National Board of Directors has recently announced the award winner for the 2011 Outstanding Advocate Award for Local Government, Milwaukee County’s Office of Persons with Disabilities Executive Director, Don Natzke. Each year the Easter Seals’ National Board of Directors awards an elected or appointed federal, state or municipal official the Outstanding Advocate Award. The award may be given to recognize an ongoing commitment to issues affecting people with disabilities or for one specifically noteworthy accomplishment.
