Police Report: Aug. 29
Information taken from reports filed by the Waukesha Police Department
1 A woman at 1912 Waterview Lane called police at 1:03 a.m. Aug. 21 to report animals in her house and that she would like a net put over them. The woman said there was one small animal by her washer and one sitting on her purse. An officer checked her house and assured her there were no animals in the house.
2 One juvenile was cited for underage drinking and two others were transported home after police found them walking to a friend's house after sneaking out at Oakland Avenue and Main Street at 12:24 a.m. Aug. 21.
3 A resident at 901 Eales Ave. called police at 11:48 p.m. Aug. 21 to report a man sleeping on her lawn. The woman said the man knocked on her door and asked where he was and for directions to his house. The man also asked for a ride or a blanket. Police found the man in the yard who said he only had one beer but appeared extremely intoxicated. The man told police he needed a ride home and had titanium in his legs which affected his ability to walk. The man did not have enough money for a cab. He was advised on his behavior and taken to his home.
4 Someone called police at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 20 to report "strange lights going on under the bleachers of the football field" at Waukesha West. The caller said they think it could be the alarm system reflecting off the bleachers. Police checked the area and did not find anything suspicious.
5 A vehicle at 1806 Cardinal Drive was broken into and a laptop was taken overnight on Aug. 19. The caller said the vehicle was locked.
6 A wallet was reported stolen out of a vehicle while it was parked at Jimmy's Grotto, 314 E. Main St., at 4:57 p.m. Aug. 20.
7 A resident at 1831 S. West Ave. called police at 4:28 p.m. Aug. 20 to report burglary. The caller said when they returned home items were missing and their purse was empty and lying on the floor.
8 Theft was reported at Country Springs, 2810 Golf Road, at 2:52 p.m. Aug. 20. The caller said their bag was taken from the water park which contained clothes, keys and a cell phone.
9 Police were dispatched to 141 NW. Barstow St. at 2:04 p.m. Aug. 20 on a call of a wrong way driver. A caller at the state office building called police to report a vehicle driving the wrong way down St. Paul St. and then a man jumping out of the vehicle carrying a bag and running toward the river. When police arrived they located the son of the owner of the vehicle who was driving it. He admitted to driving the wrong way and going over the curb. He said he was meeting friends who were filming a skit for school. The man was advised on his driving.
10 A locked vehicle at 1710 Elder St. was reported entered and money and a driver's license taken at 11:43 a.m. Aug. 20.
11 Racial slurs were reported spray painted at 10:02 a.m. Aug. 20 at 2400 Springdale Road.
12 Police were called to 1535 E. Moreland Blvd. at 10:46 p.m. Aug. 21 on a report that a family was digging up trees in the parking lot and the caller believes they have since left. When police arrived, the caller pointed out where bushes had been taken. Police reported seeing fresh mulch spread, but it was unclear if anything had been taken.
13 A resident at 1024 Madison St. called police at 5:03 p.m. Aug. 21 after coming home from work to find that someone had cut and removed their window screen. The caller said the window had been opened and there were footprints on the windowsill. Police cleared the house and the caller did not report anything missing.
14 A caller at 512 S. East Ave. reported burglary of a GPS from their vehicle parked in the garage at 12:46 p.m. Aug. 21.
15 Theft of 480 electrical ballasts from 1500 N. University Drive was reported at 10:02 a.m. Aug. 21.
16 Someone tried to pass a counterfeit $5 bill at 260 W. Main St. Aug. 22.
17 A woman called police at 3:48 p.m. Aug. 22 to report their wallet had been stolen at Walmart, 2000 S. West Ave. The woman said she canceled her credit cards, but one had already been used.
18 The owner of a rental property at 1908 Kensington Drive reported damage to the home at 7:45 a.m. Aug. 22. The caller said the damage must have occurred sometime overnight. They reported a broken window, screens cut, faucet damaged and light bulbs taken from fixtures in bathroom.
19 Police were dispatched to a report of three men jumping on top of a Maserati in the dealership lot at 2230 E. Moreland Blvd. at 5:11 p.m. Aug. 25. When police arrived they found the men who said they were up-and-coming rap artists filming a video for their latest rap song. They were standing in front of the vehicle and did not damage the vehicle.
20 Carroll University security called police at 3:48 a.m. Aug. 24 to report two vehicles were damaged on campus. The callers said two suspects stole a vehicle and hit a building. They said the suspects then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
21 A battery and other items were reported missing at 9:04 p.m. Aug. 23 from a vehicle at 1330 E. Main St.
22 A caller at 217 South St. reported forgery at 2:47 p.m. Aug. 23 after a check they wrote in the amount of $110.88 to Ideal Mechanical was altered to $910.88. The forgery is under investigation and the bank reimbursed the caller's bank account the difference, but she wanted to report the incident to police.
23 Eight car batteries were reported stolen from1330 E. Main St. The caller said this is the fourth time in two weeks this type of theft has occurred.
24 A man was warned about harassment at 4:38 a.m. Aug 27 after continuing to call dispatch and tie up the phone to tell dispatchers "his driving plan and when he should be pulled over" at Center Road and West Sunset Drive after receiving a traffic citation.
