Police Report: March 20
Information taken from reports filed by the Waukesha Police Department
1 A caller's boyfriend's apartment was broken into and items were stolen at 8:43 p.m. March 6 at 1000 Pewaukee Road.
2 A vehicle was broken into and items were taken at 9:52 a.m. March 7 at 425 Fairview Ave.
3 A Waukesha School District iPad was reported stolen at 3:25 p.m. March 7 at 310 N. Hine Ave. The device belongs to the caller and the district's secondary tracking system showed it was in Burlington.
4 Police were called at 4:20 p.m. March 7 to a vacant house at 300 S. East Ave. for a "super large icicle" hanging on the back door. The caller thought it was a broken pipe. Police went to the house to find a "glacier"-like icicle on the entire back door and porch.
5 Police were called at 7:51 p.m. March 7 to an apartment complex at 1167 Burr Oak Blvd. because people were trying to get into the basement and the caller's daughter said the night before she saw a man peeking in her window.
6 An intoxicated male was crawling around in a snowbank in front of the apartment building at the corner of Maple and W. Dunbar Avenues at 11:46 p.m. March 7.
7 Police were called at 2:26 a.m. March 8 to Bosco's Social Club, 260 W. Main St., for a female who had passed out in the bathroom. Police had to take the door off its hinges to reach her.
8 A caller at 5:37 a.m. March 8 said a young couple living in an apartment at 308 South St. had been drinking and using drugs and were threatening to cut his head off and mentioned having a gun.
9 A man reported at 9:17 a.m. March 8 having his house at 2510 Pendleton Place egged during the night.
10 A woman at 724 Maple Ave. called police at 6:35 a.m. March 9 to "whip (her boyfriend) into shape" because he took the beer she purchased. The woman was warned on the proper use of 9-1-1.
11 A caller at 3:08 p.m. March 9 reported that his daughter's car's back windshield was smashed out at 1303 Fleetfoot Drive.
12 Police responded to an apartment complex at 304 W. Newhall Ave. at 6:46 p.m. March 9 because the caller smelled a strong odor of possible cat urine in the building. The woman also thought the smell might be from a meth lab. Police found that the "pungent aroma" was not cat urine or a meth lab. The smell was coming from an exotic fruit in the upper level of the complex. The owner of the fruit agreed to discard it promptly.
13 An apartment was broken into at 12:23 a.m. March 10 at 200 W. North St. The caller said there are pry marks on his door and that papers in his apartment were stolen. The caller said the washer and dryer downstairs are "destroyed."
14 Scrap metal and tools were reported stolen March 10 at the site of a new Hobby Lobby at 1160 W. Sunset Drive, Suite 104. The store is opening March 28.
15 Police were called at 12:42 p.m. March 10 because a woman said she saw two people climb into the back of a vehicle at the end of the 1300 block of Atlantic Drive and were having sex. Police found the two dressed and they said they were talking and kissing at one point but never had sex.
16 A man was urinating behind the building by the dumpsters at 501 Wisconsin Ave. at 6:19 p.m. March 10.
17 A woman called police at 9:52 p.m. March 10 in the 2600 block of Lancaster Drive to say her husband hit her in the face and kicked her leg. Police found no problems as the caller said she just wanted to teach her husband a lesson.
18 Police were called at 10:15 p.m. March 10 to keep the peace at 117 South St. because the caller was locked out of his friend's house after a heated game of chess. His friend now wouldn't let him back in to get his phones.
19 Police found an intoxicated man in a vehicle at 11:49 p.m. March 10 at 1941 Madison St. The man was naked and covered in feces.
20 A couple was found partaking in extramarital affairs in a vehicle at 2:23 a.m. March 11 at 818 W. Sunset Drive.
21 The change machine and back door at the Manhattan Laundromat, 1720 Manhattan Drive, were reported broken into and damaged at 7:36 a.m. March 11. The incident happened during the night.
22 Graffiti was found at 10:44 a.m. March 11 at 241 South St., inside the municipal parking ramp.
23 A man reported at 3:30 p.m. March 11 that the driver's side window of his car was smashed out while he was at work at 400 Summit Ave.
24 A wallet and two phones were stolen from the men's locker room in the waterpark at 8:45 p.m. March 11 at the Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Road.
25 A caller at 12:12 p.m. March 12 reported a "weaponized" baseball bat with "screws and nails and a weight inserted" along the curb across from his house at 1212 River Place Blvd.
26 A man was walking in traffic near East Park Avenue and East Avenue at 2:27 p.m. March 12 because he was angry with his caregiver. The man was walking on the railroad tracks and sitting on them near the bridge by Newhall Avenue, causing the Canadian National Railway to stop their trains, before police stopped him.
27 A caller reported at 7:30 p.m. March 12 that a man stole a 60- to 70-pound piece of steel jaws of a rock crusher from their scrap pile at 1335 Ellis St.
28 Police were called to Waukesha West High School, 3301 Saylesville Road, at 1:14 p.m. March 13 for a student causing a disturbance as he was using his phone to videotape females in class.
29 A man smashed out the window of a car before entering it at 3:55 p.m. March 13 at 2122 Silvernail Road. The man then sped off.
30 An elderly man, who is a retired veteran and is schizophrenic, called police to report hearing multiple gun shots fired inside and outside his apartment at 6:33 p.m. March 13 at 308 South Street. He told police that if it was a video game it was very graphic. Police surrounded the area and shut down foot traffic and a nearby street. The claim was unfounded as police said the man possibly heard people coming home from work. After calling police again, the man was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for voluntary medical clearance and is expected to be moved to the Waukesha County Mental Health Center.
31 A 9-year-old girl was walking home from her friend's house at 7:30 p.m. March 13 on Broadway. While passing Buchner Park, 231 Oakland Ave., a white male, about 6 feet tall, 200 pounds and 30 years old, approached her wearing a long black trench coat and black boots with his hood up. He asked the girl to come talk to him and in his right hand he had a shiny object that she thought might have been a knife. She wasn't sure because as soon as she saw him she ran home.
32 A man, possibly in his 50s and homeless, was found passed out at 9:11 p.m. March 13 in the bushes on the side of the AutoZone site, 2308 N. Grandview Blvd.
