When Opened and Brief History:
Beautiful Savior Lutheran opened a preschool and childcare in 1986.
In the fall of 1998, the first kindergarten class was established. The school continued to add one grade each consecutive school year.
In August 2000, a new school and office addition was dedicated to the glory of God.
The 2000-2001 school year began in the new facility. In May 2005, a new Christian Family Life Center (gymnasium) as well as art and science labs were dedicated. Our school serves children in preschool (3 and 4 years) through Grade 6.
Number of Students: 72
What We Do Best:
The school not only educates the children for today but prepares them for tomorrow.
Beautiful Savior celebrates the fact that they can freely worship and teach each child about our one true God and His scriptures.
They offer an outstanding educational experience, along with the goal of modeling and molding a Christ-centered world view.
What's New:
Technology has been an element that the school has incorporated into each grade level from preschool to Grade 6.
Along with its new computer lab this spring, each classroom has computer and Internet access.
The school also uses Smartboard technology. The library is equipped with a small computer lab and the "card catalog" is in the process of being "digitized."
Recent Accomplishments:
Beautiful Savior students just completed an "Academic Fair" which was part of National Lutheran School Week activities.
Each student presented their project to classmates and parents in a fun-filled evening of academia and fellowship. The event, which was held on Feb. 15, centered on the Winter Olympics.
Students studied various countries, had an opening ceremony, and participated in many Olympic-inspired events like bobsled races and speed skating on paper plates.
The event ended with the handing out of medals to the top three fundraisers and the singing of our national anthem. The grand total the school raised for the American Heart Association was $2,130. What a great way to give to others!
Our Motto: Connecting children to Jesus through academic excellence.
Upcoming Events:
Fifth- and sixth-graders participated in Time Warner Cable's Hang Tough Video Contest this year.
One of the school's scripts was a top 20 finalist! The class will attend the awards ceremony on April 29 where the winners will be announced.
"Celebration of Good Writing" will be held at the end of the school year. Students have been learning what it means to be published. Books complete with illustrations, dedications, and biographies about the author, are being created by children with the help of Beautiful Savior Publishing Company, a group of parent volunteers who type, edit and bind the books. Our whole effort is to help children enjoy and feel comfortable expressing themselves through written communication. "Writers are makers of reading.". Both processes stimulate each other!.
What's More:
Beautiful Savior Lutheran School welcomes and values every child. Students are taught values in a safe Christian and family environment with smaller class sizes. The school is able to give more individual attention to each child and is blessed with a knowledgeable, experienced, caring and dedicated staff.
Though a small school, it boasts state of the art facilities which include a new computer lab and a beautiful gym for after-school activities.
The school offers foreign language classes, computer science, band, choir, art classes and the accelerated reader (AR) program along with the core academics. The school also has a library that is professionally staffed and well stocked with your child's favorite book.
Beautiful Savior Lutheran School belongs to the Milwaukee Lutheran Elementary Schools Athletic Association and competes against area Lutheran schools in soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track. Students may also participate in swimming and cross country hosted by various Waukesha area schools.
