Generac to spend $8 million to $10 million on expansion

Feb. 7, 2012 | 12 comments

Generac Power Systems Inc. said Tuesday it's spending $8 million to $10 million to expand and remodel its headquarters, in Waukesha, and to create a technical center.

Generac said it employs more than 550 people at its headquarters, and plans to add more than 200 jobs over the next three years.

The expansion and remodeling is expected to be completed by the end of 2013, the company said.

Generac said it has purchased land adjacent to its Waukesha headquarters for future expansion.

  1. Thank you Scott Walker for creating a business friendly environment and continuing to bring jobs to WI! Jim Doyle would have chased these jobs over the WI border.
  2. Good for Generac, they have a fantastic future. President Obama and the EPA are shutting down 12% of the power generating capacity of the country. If you don't have a generator you will eventually find out you need one. Me, I have several sizes. I plan to be able to watch HBO come hell or higfh water.

  3. Are these good jobs or ones that pay $12 and less? The last thing we need is more plebs sucking off the tit. I'd just as soon they send teh crappy jobs to Illinois... those workers will follow.

  4. really, adding jobs, I don't think the wages generac pays can really be considered a job. I would perfer they let these jobs go across the border.

  5. Mayan calendar year, natural disasters, an old tired electrical grid, more frequent yet longer lasting power outages, people living off the grid?

  6. Thank you Generac for investing in WI. For those complaing about 12 dollar a hour jobs - that is very sad. Let me guess - you deserve a 50 dollar a hour job for doing nothing? Remember what happened at Mercury? Generac could have created jobs elsewhere and then you would be complaing about that to.

Thanks Generac for creating jobs for WI families!
