Drug bust at Candles for You

On June 19, Waukesha Police Detectives executed a narcotics search warrant on a Waukesha business at 744 N. Grand Ave. This was after several complaints that the Candles for You store was trafficking drugs and not selling candles. Undercover detectives have purchased marijuana from the business owner, James Juhay several times over the last few weeks. Juhay sleeps in a closet in the store and is out on bail for battery. Juhay had just over 1 pound of marijuana in the store and his safe.

A “customer” Mike Freed came up from the basement of the business while the search warrant was being executed and was found to have 10 bags of marijuana on him and a scale. Juhay had been selling “legal” marijuana, cocaine and Ecstasy out of his business and also supplementing it with the real thing. The facsimile drugs were purchased from California over the Internet and are not illegal. Juhay and Freed were arrested and are being held on felony drug charges.

Escorts caught without license

On June 12, City of Waukesha Police detectives conducted another investigation into illegal escort operating in the City of Waukesha. Two female escorts were arrested and issued $676 citations for Operating without an Escort License. Melanie N. Sewell, 30, of Trevor, WI with prior prostitution and drug arrests and Alicia Brown, 34, of Milwaukee with prior arrests for theft, drugs, and bail jumping were arrested. One of the escorts agreed to have sex for $250 an hour and the other for $350 an hour when questioned by undercover detectives. This is the third such investigation conducted by the police department and fourth arrest since the ordinance went into effect on March 13.

This ordinance has been very successful in assisting the Waukesha Police Department in arresting prostitutes who act as escorts in the city. This has helped to reduce the associated crime and disorder that comes when prostitution is not contained.

Home thief caught at casino

On Friday, June 6, the Waukesha Police Department was dispatched to 2600 block of Oakcrest Drive in reference a daytime home invasion robbery that had just occurred. The victim advised that a suspect came into his house and robbed him at gun point and also fired two rounds from a semi-automatic pistol at him inside the residence.

Through investigation, the suspect was identified by detectives as Tuyen Ngo. He was arrested by detectives at a casino with a large amount of cash on him and is being held on $200,000 cash bail. The investigation has taken detectives to other counties and to Illinois where a search warrant was executed. Some ammunition and the car that was used in the robbery were recovered.
