Five Diamonds in Town of Waukesha changes to Infinity Fields

While the permit that has been a point of contention at Five Diamonds since it opened last year won't change, there has been a change with the complex: its name.

When baseball and softball players begin play late next month, players will be playing at Infinity Fields, located at Les Paul Parkway (Highway 59/164) and Milky Way Road.

Tom Kelenic, a co-owner of the complex, said he sold naming rights to Josh and MJ Sparks, who own Infinity Exteriors in Waukesha, 1921 S. West Ave. Infinity works on roofing, siding, windows, decks, insulation and concrete.

Kelenic said the Sparkses were looking to do some community support and with them having kids in the Waukesha Blazers organization, a league that utilizes the fields, it was the perfect fit.

"Along with the sign they're able to advertise their company," Kelenic said. "It's a great fit so far. They have a lot of great ideas."

Kelenic said Five Diamonds, which was started by Kelenic and fellow business partner Greg Beatty, is still the managing company of the facility.

With the new naming rights, Kelenic said there will be a "re-naming" celebration when the new season kicks off April 27.

The event, which is also a fundraiser for the Hebron House of Hospitality in Waukesha, is from 5 to 9 p.m.

"We hope people can bring something, whether it's soaps, food or clothes. We're looking to help the people at the Hebron House," Kelenic said.

Individuals who bring in an item will receive a free hot dog.

Year 2 of the complex comes after a hectic first year.

Five Diamonds sought annexation into the City of Waukesha after having a battle-tested season in the Town of Waukesha regarding the conditional-use permit on when the lights should be turned on and off. Residents said the lights stayed on past the allotted time many times, while the owners said their claims were petty.

Five Diamonds' quest to get annexed into the city failed and the owners will operate under last year's permit.
