Waukesha - A 40-year-old Waukesha man is being held in Waukesha County Jail on $100,000 bail for allegedly sexually assaulting the daughter of his girlfriend for a year.
A 16-year-old girl informed Waukesha police Jan. 13 that her mother's husband had repeatedly assaulted her from June 2007 to June 2008, according to the criminal complaint filed Jan. 20 in Waukesha County Circuit Court. At the time the girl was 12 years old and the man her mother's boyfriend, but living in the residence. The man and the girl's mother married in 2011.
The girl told police the man inappropriately touched her about 50 times, the complaint said. At one point the man told the girl she could not say anything otherwise he would go to jail, the complaint said.
The girls' mother told police that her daughter has a learning disability and is about two years behind where her peers are, the complaint said. The woman told police when she learned of the alleged assaults she had the man leave the residence, the complaint said.
The man is not being named to protect the identity of the victim. The man is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 25 for a hearing.
