Waukesha - A 23-year-old Waukesha man was charged Dec. 15 in Waukesha County Circuit Court for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a girl when she was about 8 years old.
Javier A. Lopez Jr. was charged with two felony counts of first-degree sexual assault.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl, now 15, informed her mother about a series of alleged assaults that occurred between February 2001 and November 2004, including intercourse. Another girl was believed to have been assaulted by Lopez, but when interviewed by authorities, the girl, now 12, said she was not molested but did witness Lopez assault the other girl, the complaint said.
Lopez is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 5 for a preliminary hearing.
The complaint said Lopez is currently a registered sex offender.
