Repeat sex offender Vasquez to live in Waukesha

A repeat sex offender was released from prison last week and will be living in the City of Waukesha - the same area in which he lived before.

Jessie Vasquez, who was convicted in 1999 of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old male household member on multiple occasions over four years, will reside at 1356 E. Moreland Blvd., 1B.

According to the Waukesha Police Department, Vasquez was released to the community on Feb. 24, 2009 and lived in that area. But after a rules violation, he was taken back into custody by the Department of Corrections in July 2011.

Vasquez, who is 5 feet 11 inches with black hair, brown eyes and weighs 260 pounds, was first convicted of having sexual relations with a 7-year-old boy on multiple occasions in 1987.

Vasquez, who will be under the supervision of the Department of Corrections - Division of Community Corrections, will be a life registrant with the sex offender registry and will submit to face-to-face registration with law enforcement. Vasquez can't have any unsupervised contact with minors, can't have contact with the victims, can't be in a tavern, bar or liquor store and can't purchase, possess or consume alcohol or illegal drugs. He is to comply with sex offender rules and will be on GPS monitoring for life.

Waukesha Sgt. of Police John Konkol, who released this information in a Sex Offender Information Bulletin Feb. 16, said it is for the public's benefit to know about sex offenders in the area.

."This notification is not intended to increase fear," Konkol said. "Rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public."
