Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County invites the community to help it accomplish its mission of making Christmas brighter for thousands of area children by dropping off new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 12 at toy drop-off locations throughout Waukesha County.
Toys collected will stock the shelves of the CCC's annual Toy Shop held on Dec. 15 for children in need in the county. A complete list of toy drop-off locations is included below.
Items particularly needed include infant clothing and blankets, pre-school board books, toys for children ages birth to 9, gift items for pre-teens; ages 10-12, Lego blocks, books, crafts, sporting equipment, hats and waterproof mittens and gift cards for teenagers.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2009, CCC is a nonprofit group that matches needy families with individuals and groups who want to help on a person-to-person basis during the holiday season. Families who are not matched with sponsors are invited to CCC's annual Toy Shop, stocked with donated items, to shop for their children. In 2011 more than 4,500 Waukesha County children from more than 1,900 families experienced the joy of the holiday season because of the efforts of CCC and its volunteers, donors and sponsors. CCC was awarded "Small Non-Profit of the Year" in 2011 by the Waukesha County Executive's office.
For more information about drop-off locations, volunteering or sponsoring a family, call (262) 549-NOEL (6635) or visit www.christmasclearingcouncil.org. Look for CCC on Facebook and Twitter.
