A spring food festival in each state

Alaska's Kodiak Chamber of Commerce has hosted the Kodiak Crab Festival since 1958 with crab and family-friendly activities Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-29 this year.

Arizona's Scottsdale Culinary Festival will take place on the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall, April 8-9. Taste from more than 30 local eateries, and sip at a wine garden, beer garden, lounge or vodka deck.

Arkansas' Hot Springs Gumbo & Crawfish Festival takes place at Hill Wheatley Plaza in Downtown Hot Springs on April 22. Guests can purchase tickets for unlimited samples of gumbo and/or crawfish and sides while enjoying live music.

California's 11th annual Malibu Food & Wine Festival will be held at The Commons at Calabasas, June 8-11. Taste from more than 40 restaurants, 19 wineries, spirits brands, breweries and more vendors.

The Colorado Chocolate Festival will be held at the Denver Merchandise Mart, May 12-13 with more than 80 vendors.

Connecticut's 12th annual Taste of Wethersfield will take place at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center on April 8. Taste from more than 20 local restaurants, breweries and wineries while enjoying live entertainment and a silent auction.

Delaware's Fork + Flask at Nage will host its 9th annual Food and Wine Festival on April 23 in Rehoboth Beach. Guests can taste from more than 50 wines offered by region and paired with the restaurant's food.

Florida's Las Olas Wine & Food Festival will take place on Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Blvd. on April 21 with food from 40 South Florida restaurants and pairings from more than 45 wineries, breweries and spirits brands.

Georgia's 7th annual Atlanta Food & Wine Festival takes place June 1-4 at the Loews Atlanta Hotel. More than 180 chefs, barbecue pit masters, mixologists and sommeliers host dinners, parties, classes and tastings.

Hawaii's 15th annual SPAM Jam takes place on Honolulu's Waikiki beach on April 29. More than 15 area restaurants serve their takes on SPAM with live entertainment and other vendors.

Idaho's 83rd annual Emmett Cherry Festival returns to Emmett City Park, June 14-17 with food vendors, a pie eating contest, carnival rides and more family-friendly entertainment.

Illinois' Wingout Chicago will be held in the parking lot of St. Michael’s in Old Town, June 3-4. Around 10 area restaurants share their chicken wings with live music, adult beverages and other vendors.

Indiana's 48th annual Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival will take place in downtown Wakarusa, Ind., April 28-30. Taste from more than 20 food vendors, see a parade, contests, entertainment and tours.

Iowa's Amana Colonies host Take a Bite: A Three Day Food Festival, April 21-23. Local restaurants, hotels and shops host a variety of food events, from dinners to tours and tasting classes.

The 4th annual Kansas Food Truck Festival takes place May 6 in the city of Lawrence's Warehouse Arts District. Taste from more than 30 food trucks with live music performances and activities.

Kentucky's 39th annual International Bar-B-Q Festival takes place in Owensboro, May 12-13. Teams compete in mutton, chicken and burgoo competitions, amateur home cooks barbecue in the backyard cookoff, and guests can participate in a sandwich eating competition or pie eating contest.

Louisiana's 25th New Orleans Wine and Food Experience takes place May 25-28 with dinners, tastings, seminars, a pastry competition and more.

Maine's Taste of Bar Harbor takes place June 8-11 with special menus at local restaurants, a chef's table, a pub tour, a dessert night and more.

The traveling Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival stops in Maryland twice this spring: Timonium, March 31-April 1 and National Harbor, June 16-17. The event boasts 60 beer and 40 bourbon selections to pair with brisket, chicken, pulled pork, ribs, sausage and more barbecue.

Massachusetts' 25th annual Waltham Food, Wine & Craft Beer Festival will be held on March 30 at the Westin Waltham Hotel. Taste from 20 local restaurants paired with craft wine and beer, and live music.

Michigan's 10th annual Taste of Ann Arbor takes place on the city's Main Street on June 4.

The traveling Bacon and Beer Classic lands in Minnesota on April 15. Try unlimited bacon creations and craft beer at Minneapolis' Nicollet Island Pavilion.

Mississippi's 5th annual Pass Christian Wine & Food Festival returns returns to Oak Crest Mansion Inn on April 8. Local food is paired with live music and a silent auction.

Missouri's 18th annual Rock'n Ribs BBQ Festival will be held at The Ozark Empire Fair Grounds in Springfield, April 21-22. Barbecue teams compete and attendees can taste barbecue and food from various vendors with live music and a kids zone.

The Montana State University Billings Foundation's Wine & Food Festival will take place May 15-20. The 25th annual event hosts a dozen restaurants and caterers, and a silent auction to raise funds for the university.

Nebraska's 20th annual Taste of Omaha will take place in the Heartland of America Park and Lewis & Clark Landing, June 2-4. More than 45 local eateries serve food in riverfront parks with live music, family activities and a culinary stage for demonstrations.

Nevada's annual Vegas Uncork'd by Bon Appetit returns to Las Vegas, April 27-30 with celebrity chefs, more than 30 events, and the grand tasting at Caesars Palace's Garden of the Gods pool.

New Hampshire's 14th annual Chili Cookoff will take place at the North Conway Community Center and Gibson Center for Senior Services on April 8. Professional and amateur chefs compete for the best chili with samples for attendees and area activities, including a 5k run.

The New Jersey Seafood Festival takes over Belmar's Silver Lake Park, May 19-21 with seafood and craft vendors, a wine and beer tent, live music, activities and contests.

The third annual Great New Mexico Food Truck Festival takes place outside Albuquerque's Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum on April 8 with more than 25 local trucks.

New York's third annual Harlem Eat Up! Festival returns May 16-21 with a dozen events at Harlem restaurants and two days of grand tastings in Morningside Park.

North Carolina's Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend returns April 19-22 with a dozen events such as pairing dinners at area restaurants.

In North Dakota, Happy Harry's Ribfest returns to the Fargodome, June 7-10 with ribs, chicken, pulled pork and more from seven barbecue restaurants.

Ohio's 39th annual Taste of Cincinnati takes place on the city's 5th Street, May 27-29 with more than 100 dishes from area restaurants.

Oklahoma City's Uptown 23rd District will host its fourth annual Uptown Uncorked event on March 30 at the Oklahoma History Center. The fundraiser showcases food, wine and beer from local businesses with live music and more vendors.

Oregon's 35th annual Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival will take place at the Clatsop County Fair & Expo Center, April 28-30. Taste from more than 10 food vendors and 60 alcohol vendors.

The Philly Farm and Food Fest will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on April 8. Attendees can taste from 150 exhibitors and choose from 16 workshops showcasing mid-Atlantic farmers, artisans, chefs and makers.

Rhode Island's Eat Drink RI festival takes place in Providence, April 26-29 with a brunch, dinner, food trucks and grand tasting.

The 3rd annual South Carolina Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival will be held at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia on April 29. More than 30 area food trucks will participate, along with regional beers.

South Dakota's Forks, Corks and Kegs event will take place in historic Deadwood, April 7-8. Events include a grand tasting, dine around, wine tasting, appetizer crawl and more from local chefs, beverage makers and specialty food vendors.

Tennessee's annual Nashville Wine & Food Festival returns to Bicentennial Capital Mall State Park on May 20. Taste from more than 20 local restaurants, 50 wineries, 10 breweries and an artisanal market.

The Taste of Texas Food Festival takes place on April 20 at the Marriott Plaza San Antonio as part of Fiesta San Antonio. A dozen chefs serve a culinary tour through Texas' six food regions, such as South Texas' Tex-Mex tradition, represented here by chef Brian West's Sopa de Tortilla.

Utah's Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days take place at the city's Rodeo Grounds, June 10-18 with plenty of Strawberries & Cream. The festival includes a rodeo, parade, pageant, athletic events, pet show, pie eating contest and more.

The Vermont Maple Festival takes place in St. Albans, Vt., April 28-30. Events include a maple syrup and products contest, craft and specialty foods show, a barbecue, cooking contest and entertainment.

Virginia's Chincoteague Seafood Festival will take place at Tom's Cove Park on May 6. An assortment of clams, oysters, shrimp and fish is served along with beer and ice cream.

Washington's Feast Walla Walla takes place April 8 with 40 local restaurants, wineries and breweries showcased in a tent downtown on Main Street.

The 24th annual Uniquely West Virginia Wine and Food Festival will take place at Berkeley Springs' Ice House on April 22. Taste state-grown and made products from wine to produce, honey, sauces and confections.

Wisconsin's Brat Fest takes place in Madison at the Alliant Energy Center, May 26-29. Five food vendors present bratwurst and other meats alongside live music and tons of activities.
