Canadian National train breakdown jams morning traffic for hours

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
A long, slow, freight train, approaches the camera.

A broken down train engine has delayed morning traffic for hours by blocking numerous roads and train crossings, according to Jerry Habanek of the Waukesha Police Department.

"There is a train that is currently broken down," Habanek said. "There are Canadian National crews that are working on the problem to fix it."

Currently roads are shut down in Waukesha. Habanek said motorists will need to find another route. This may take up to two hours.

Motorists can drive below the railroad bridge on West Newhall Avenue, Habanek said.

Roads impacted are Moreland, Whiterock, Main. Hartwell, East, Barstow, Sunset Drive, Grand and Maple avenues.
