U.S. service academies

Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner announced that students from Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District have received nominations to the U.S. service academies.  Jacob Hoeg of Waukesha has been named an alternate nominee to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado and the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Julianna C. Koenig

U.S. Air Force Airman Julianna C. Koenig graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Koenig is the daughter of Elizabeth and Ward Koenig of Waukesha. She is also the sister of Benjamin Koenig and Erika Koenig.

Koenig graduated in 2015 from Waukesha West High School.

Lindsay A. Angles

U.S. Air Force Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Lindsay A. Angles graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Angles earned distinction as an honor graduate.

She is the daughter of Joanne and Timothy Angles of Waukesha. Angles graduated in 2015 from Waukesha West High School.
