The corporate parent of retailer Duluth Trading Co. said Thursday that sales rose by 27% in the three months ended July 31.

Duluth Holdings Inc. said it took in $65.8 million in the second quarter, up from $51.7 million in the comparable period of 2015. Net income was $3.6 million, or 11 cents per share, compared with an adjusted $3.4 million, or 14 cents per share, a year ago.

The adjustment includes a hypothetical income tax on Duluth’s 2015 second-quarter revenue. The company at the time was a privately held “S” corporation and generally wasn’t subject to corporate income taxes, as it is now.

In a statement, CEO Stephanie Pugliese said the most recent results marked Duluth’s 26th consecutive quarter of higher year-over-year sales. Known for its rugged work wear and casual clothing, Duluth has seen annual sales nearly double from 2013 to 2015.

Duluth is based in Belleville, south of Madison. The company is mainly an online and catalog retailer, but has been bolstering its business with a brick-and-mortar presence too.

The firm has nine retail stores and two outlets. It expects to open two more locations, both in suburban Chicago, this month, and three others – in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Kansas City and Washington, D.C., respectively – in the fourth quarter.
