Icy conditions is believed to be the cause
A 55-year-old woman from Sun Prairie walked away with no injuries after her plane slid off the runway at the Waukesha County Airport at 6:48 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24.
Upon arrival, Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department deputies and city of Waukesha Fire Department responders observed a 1979 Cessna 340 Twin Prop plane with substantial damage on its left side.
The pilot, who was the sole occupant in the plane, was able to walk away from the accident with no injuries.
It is believed the accident occurred as a result of the icy weather conditions. The Federal Aviation Administration was notified.
This incident remains under investigation by the FAA and the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.
