1 Police arrested a 28-year-old Waukesha man after he reportedly tried to break into his friend's house around 11:27 p.m. Aug. 13 in the 500 block of West Dunbar Avenue. According to a police report, the man was drunk and thought his friend, who reported the incident, was hiding his phone. The report did not indicate whether the man was cited or criminally charged.

2 An officer reported he or she almost hit a woman who walked into the street in front of the officer's squad car, apparently without checking to see if the roadway was clear, around 12:35 a.m. Aug. 14 in the 900 block of North Barstow Street. The report said the woman told the officer she was "walking to Milwaukee" and declined to take a cab the officer offered to call because she "had no money." Instead, she was advised "to look both ways before crossing the street so she does not get run over," the report said.

3 A woman injured her hand when she crashed her car into a street light around 2:39 a.m. Aug. 14 near Madison and North streets. According to a police report, traffic was blocked on Brook Street as a result of the accident. The report did not indicate whether the woman was cited or criminally charged for the accident.

4 An anonymous caller reported several people were outside a residence in the 200 block of Carroll Street "having a loud philosophical discussion about why college men take advantage of women" around 2:56 a.m. Aug. 14. A police report said the group was advised to take their conversation indoors.

5 An unknown driver reportedly struck a street lamp post and a speed limit sign around 9:10 p.m. Aug. 14 near Highway 164 and Tosa Trail. According to an incident report, both the post and sign were in the road when police arrived and were creating traffic problems.

6 A Waukesha woman was arrested for a bail violation after she called police drunk to report that someone had walked into her house and flipped over a table around 11:41 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 600 block of East North Street. According to a police report, the woman was on bail for her third OWI offense and had an absolute sobriety restriction as a condition of her release.

7 A woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident around 7:49 a.m. Aug. 15 near Highway 59 and Blackhawk Trail. An incident report said her car was struck by a semi truck in a construction zone, but the driver and the truck were gone when police arrived. The woman injured her back, the report said, and was rushed to the hospital.

8 Someone apparently tried to break into a house in the 100 block of Dunbar Avenue by pushing out an air conditioning unit from a first-floor bedroom window around 5:21 p.m. Aug. 15. According to a police report, the owner of the home said his two dogs might have scared the burglar away. No suspects were mentioned in the report, but police did have a description of a vehicle that was parked outside the home during the break-in.

9 A maintenance worker at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Elder Street found a dead body in a building around 9:49 a.m. Aug. 16. According to a police report, the body, of an approximately 50-year-old man, was black when the worker found and reported it.

10 A caller reported there was a woman jumping in front of cars near a parking ramp at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, 725 American Ave., saying she was trying to kill herself around 7:58 p.m. Aug. 16. A police report said the woman, who had just been released from the hospital, later checked herself back in for voluntary treatment.

11 Police reportedly told a Waukesha woman around 12:16 a.m. Aug. 17 that she could better prevent "evil spirits" from entering her home in the 300 block of North West Avenue by reinforcing her windows. Officers were dispatched to the home in response to a call from the woman, who said her neighbor's spirit "crawled through her window to thrown (an) evil mind thought at her." The spirits were allegedly part of a "game" the woman was playing with her neighbors, the report said.

12 Officers found a homeless man and woman sleeping in a vacant storage unit in the basement of an apartment complex in the 800 block of Delafield Street around 2:34 a.m. Aug. 17. An anonymous caller reported the couple, an incident report said, and they agreed to leave after speaking with police.

13 Glass panels at a bus station near Nike Drive and East Main Street were reported smashed around 7:42 a.m. Aug. 17. According to a police report, it was the second bus stop to be damaged recently. The other stop was on MacArthur Road near a bike trail.

14 Emergency personnel had to break into a house in the 1000 block of Caroline Street around 10:10 a.m. Aug. 17 when a woman reported she saw her ex-boyfriend, who has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, passed out on the kitchen floor inside the home and thought he might have overdosed. A police report said the man was alert when speaking to paramedics and was arrested on a parole violation.

15 Police took a report from a 13-year-old girl around 2:36 p.m. Aug. 17 who said she was sexually assaulted somewhere along Kensington Drive. The girl was interviewed about the assault in the emergency room at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, a police report said. The report did not mention any suspects or leads.

16 A pregnant Milwaukee woman told police she was beat up by a man who was previously imprisoned for assaulting her around 7:03 a.m. Aug. 18 near Enterprise Street and Dodie Drive. The woman said the man hit her "all over her body," according to a police report, and was rushed to the hospital. The report did not indicate whether officers found or arrested the suspect.

17 A caller in the 300 block of MacArthur Road told police around 7:12 a.m. Aug. 18 that one of his friends had been sexually assaulted by a man the previous night. A police report said the victim told officers a man put something in her drink before assaulting her. No criminal charges have been filed against the suspect named in the report as of Monday afternoon, Aug. 22.

18 Emergency personnel rushed to the aid of a 25-year-old man who was suffering from a medical problem related to sickle cell anemia and had collapsed around 2:25 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue. The man complained of chest and back pain, a police report said, and was treated.

19 Police found a man sleeping in a gazebo along the river walk downtown around 8:12 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 100 block of East St. Paul Avenue. An incident report said the man was advised to move along.

20 Police received a report of a man wearing camouflage and carrying a bow and arrows and throwing various objects at cars around 9:43 p.m. Aug. 18 near South Porter Avenue and Grant Street. A police report did not indicate whether officers found the man.
