Local police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a gas station robbery late Tuesday night, Sept. 20.

According to a department news release, officers responded around 11:42 p.m. Tuesday to a PDQ gas station at 2106 S. West Ave. to a report of an armed robbery there.

An investigation determined a man walked into the station brandishing a firearm and demanded money from the clerk. He took cash from the clerk and fled before police arrived.

Police said the man was thin and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a grey Nike baseball hat. Most of his face was covered with a red bandanna.The release did not specify the man's race or height.

Lt. Joe Hendricks said Wednesday evening no additional information was immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
