Two people held up a Waukesha gas station Tuesday night, Jan. 3 at gunpoint and remain at large.

Police are continuing to search for suspects as of Wednesday morning, Jan. 4.

According to the Waukesha Police Department, the suspects around 8:34 p.m. walked into the BP gas station at 500 Arcadian Ave., brandished a firearm and pointed it at a clerk then demanded money.

Capt. Dan Baumann said in an email that the robbers, who fled before police arrived, made off with an unspecified amount of cash and cigarettes. No one was injured, he added.

"The suspects went to great lengths to conceal their identity," Baumann said.

They are described in a police department news release as having medium builds and wearing a variety of dark clothes. At least one of them can be seen in a surveillance photo wearing a mask. Police identified that suspect as a male of unknown race.

The gender and race of the second suspect are unknown, according to the release.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Tim Probst at 262-524-3814.
