Hillcrest Elementary School's new principal has a skill set that will serve school and staff well, says the chairwoman of a key Waukesha School District's committee.
The Waukesha School Board unanimously approved Faith Lincicum as the new principal of Hillcrest Elementary School, based in part on the administration's recommendation, during a board meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Human Resources Committee Chair Patricia Madden voiced support for Lincicum, who she described as a highly regarded professional.
"She helps teachers reach their goals and constantly wants to grow as a learner," Madden said.
Madden said Lincicum has shown she is genuine and caring in her current role as an elementary math effectiveness coach at Hawthorne STEM Elementary and Randall STEM, both in Waukesha. And she is very familiar with the Waukesha district's mission, vision and instructional goals, given that she has been with the district since 2000.
Madden added Lincicum understands the big shoes she has to fill in replacing longtime Waukesha educator Bonnie Schlais, who herself was praised for past efforts by school district officials.
"(Lincicum) is humbled by the opportunity to take on the transfer of care that is required for this position," Madden said.
Lincicum is also described as student-centered with a compassionate spirit.
"I can’t think of anyone more perfect for the job," School Board member Karin Rajnicek said.
"I look forward to having Faith in that new leadership capacity," Waukesha School Board President Joseph Como said.
