Shawn Rundblade of Waukesha announced that he will run as a write-in candidate for the Waukesha School Board in the April 4 election.

Rundblade, who moved to Waukesha in 2016, said not having a choice of candidate is not beneficial to the student, teachers and parents.

According to his public Facebook account, he wants to stand up for teachers pay and ensure they have the tools they need to do their job. Rundblade said he feels the education system faces challenges, including some proposed bills coming from the federal government that suggests to him that teachers and schools will need all the assistance they can get.
