Parents Place, 1570 E. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, offers a variety of parenting-related classes each month.

The following groups and classes are offered in April at Parents Place:

Unlock the Secrets to Discipline: Learn how to manage tantrums, avoid power struggles and calm the chaos in a respectful and nurturing way that builds your relationship with your child while setting clear and consistent limits. The class is based on current brain research and the book 'No Drama Discipline,' by Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne. This class for parents of children of all ages meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, April 5-19.

Love and Logic: This philosophy provides simple and practical techniques to help parents have less stress and more fun while raising responsible kids. Techniques include setting limits with enforceable statements, sharing control through lots of small choices and many more. Class meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, April 4-25.

Creating a Love of Learning in Children: Learn effective communication techniques and homework strategies, as well as how to promote a love of reading. Class meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13.

Infant/Toddler Challenges: Early relationships have a strong impact on future learning. Learn the critical role secure attachment plays on the children in your life. Class meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday April 26.

What Children Need to Learn: Deb McNelis, the creator of Brain Insights and an international presenter, will show ways to have a positive impact on your child's behavior and self-perception. Class meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 4.

Adult Anger: Explore common causes of anger, learn how to manage your emotions and find techniques that help you control your actions before they hurt someone or yourself. The group meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, April 6-20.

Parents Place also offers ongoing support groups such as Dad's Support Group and Foster Parents.
