Parents Place, 1570 E. Moreland Blvd., offers a variety of parenting-related classes and groups as part of its efforts to promote strong, healthy families through education.

The following groups and classes are offered in June at Parents Place:

·Love and Logic provides simple and practical techniques to help parents have less stress and more fun while raising responsible kids. This curriculum provides techniques such as setting limits with enforceable statements, sharing control through lots of small choices and many more. The class meets from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, June 6-20.

·Strong-willed Child: This class discusses identifying feelings and emotions, which are key in teaching kids essential life skills such as managing emotional outbursts, developing problem solving skills and working cooperatively. The class meets from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, June 7-21.

·Fun in the Park/Ice Cream Social: Participants will enjoy yard games, nature crafts, face painting, bubbles, ice cream and more from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, June 14, July 12 and Aug. 9. Park locations to be announced.

·Mindful Parent equals Happy Child: This class discusses creating a home with less stress, where children feel loved, accepted, safe and calm. Mindfulness is a key element in happiness and is proven to benefit physical and mental well-being. The first week focuses on parents, and the second week is for parents and children to do hands-on interactive activities. The class meets from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, June 21-28.

·Picking Up the Pieces After Loss: Whether the death of a loved one, the end of a job or a move, loss can leave you with scattered feelings. This class explores positive options and ways to move on. The class meets from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 27.
