A man who was mistakenly released Thursday morning, Oct. 6, from the Waukesha County Jail turned himself in about 12 hours later to police in another jurisdiction.
According to a news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, 36-year-old J. Dustin Palubicki was released around 9 a.m. that day from the jail but shouldn't have been. Palubicki was wanted in Forest County for non-payment of child support when he was freed from the jail.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department arrested him in early September on a paternity matter.
Palubicki turned himself in around 10:08 p.m. Thursday to Forest County authorities, according to Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Jennifer Wallschlaeger.
The department asked the Waukesha County community for help finding Palubicki after he was mistakenly released.
