Any residents hoping for a relaxing time at the Waukesha Public Library, 321 W. Wisconsin Ave., last week likely had a little scare after the city reported library staff found bedbugs Oct. 5 in one section of the building.
The library was closed all day Thursday, Oct. 6, as a result and an exterminator fumigated the entire building as a safety precaution, according to city staff. The bedbugs were found on some furniture that has since been thrown away.
A news release said the city is putting a proactive treatment plan in place to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The library was open during its regularly scheduled hours on Friday, Oct. 7.
