The Women’s Center in Waukesha received a $25,000 grant from Verizon as part of the company’s HopeLine program, which provides support for domestic violence awareness and prevention.

The presentation was made at the fraternity Delta Rho Upsilon benefit dinner for The Women’s Center, Friday, Nov. 18 at Carroll University in Waukesha. Delta Rho Upsilon has worked to benefit The Women’s Center for several years.

A drive for the HopeLine program on Carroll University’s campus will benefit The Women's Center.

Through the HopeLine Program, Verizon collects used wireless phones, batteries and accessories (in any condition, from any carrier) in its stores nationwide and in special collections throughout the year. The phones are either refurbished or recycled to provide support for domestic violence organizations and programs nationwide.

The Women’s Center serves women and children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse. The center offers free, comprehensive services
