Business was so good for Nick and Elise Miller at their Hartland mattress store, Lake Country Bed Barn, that the couple decided to expand the operation and open a Waukesha location.

Waukesha's Lake Country Bed Barn opened Nov. 22 at 1560 E. Moreland Blvd., just east of Manhattan Drive and Gyros West. The business is billed as a discount mattress store and its products are made in Wisconsin – Watertown, specifically.

“We could not be happier to bring our same excellent customer service, affordable prices and, of course, amazingly comfortable mattresses to another great area,” Nick Miller said.

Among the store's other charms are the fact that it's family-owned and operated. Elise Miller's father, Keith Buske, started selling Symbol Mattresses out of his barn in Watertown more than 15 years ago.

The Millers opened their Hartland location in 2014 and now have brought another store into the fold.

Local ties

A Waukesha location wasn't something Bed Barn customers were clamoring for, Nick Miller said, but they thought the area was a nice fit because it wasn't too far from Hartland and because the couple have ties to the area.

Elise Miller graduated from Carroll University and Nick has family here.

"And we wanted to show (Waukesha) people there's a cost-friendly mattress store in the area," Nick Miller added.

The Waukesha location is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. The store can be reached at 262-408-1192.
