Pizza Hut announced in January the company raised over $14,000 to support Greater Waukesha Literacy and the Next Door Foundation of Milwaukee through Pizza Hut's The Literacy Project.

Pizza Hut customers and employees participated in the fundraising effort from Sept. 8 to Nov. 7, 2016. Funds go toward access to literacy resources for teachers and readers in the communities of Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Pizza Hut partnered with nonprofit First Book, which provides new books and education resources to schools and programs that serve children in need.

All funds raised provide Greater Waukesha Literacy and the Next Door Foundation of Milwaukee with credits to the First Book Marketplace, which can be used to purchase book titles and other educational resources available for free or deeply reduced rates.

More information about The Literacy Project can be found at theliteracyproject.pizzahut.com.
