Nighttime lane closures and minor ramp work are expected along Interstate 94 beginning the week of June 19 as the state Department of Transportation does repair work between the western Waukesha County line (at Jefferson County) and Highway 16.
The project will include concrete pavement repairs, joint repair, asphalt milling and overlay and pavement markings.
The DOZT hopes to minimize the effect on traffic during the project. Nighttime lane closures will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays, and from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. weekends, as needed.
Individual nighttime ramp closures will take place at the I-94 Highway T interchange, including the westbound on- and off-ramps and the eastbound on-ramp. Work at each ramp is anticipated to last only one night. No full freeway closures are needed.
The contractor, Zignego Co. Inc., plans to complete the $2.9 million project by mid-fall. The schedule of work is weather dependent and subject to change.
