Fire struck the historic Fracaro's Lanes, 1430 Whiterock Ave., in Waukesha Sunday night, according to a Waukesha police dispatcher.

Fire struck the historic Fracaro's Lanes in Waukesha around 9 p.m. Sunday, according to Battalion Chief Scott Purdy of the Waukesha Fire Department. No one was injured, he said in a news release.

When firefighters arrived at the bowling alley, 1430 Whiterock Ave., they saw smoke and flames coming from the roof. Firefighters entered and made several attempts to fight the fire from inside the building, but were forced out by the blaze. The fire "went to three alarms and required resources from multiple agencies," the release says.

Investigators determined the fire started in the kitchen area behind the bar and it was not suspicious. Preliminary estimates put the damage at $250,000.

The 16-lane bowling alley has been family owned and operated since 1933, according to the business' website.

No details on the fire were immediately available. WITI-TV in Milwaukee posted video of the fire.
