A Waukesha man has been charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle in a crash that killed another man and injured two children, according to a criminal complaint.

Andrew J. Mussomeli, 31, is charged in the death of Paul Parsons, 76, who was killed in the crash May 2 in the Town of Merton, according to the complaint.

Mussomeli is also charged with two counts of reckless driving causing injury for injuries suffered by Parsons' grandsons, then 6- and 8-years-old, who were passengers in Parson's vehicle, according to the complaint.

The complaint accuses Mussomeli of driving west on Highway 16 at between 80 and 90 mph, cutting off two vehicles, passing one on the right shoulder of the road and then striking the rear of Parsons' vehicle while attempting to return to the roadway just before Highway 83.

The complaint was filed electronically, according to state court records, and does not explain why the charges were delayed.

Mussomeli's custody status was not available Thursday night.
