The Waukesha Wings hockey team is headed back to state and will meet familiar foe Arrowhead in the state quarterfinal, with the puck dropping at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

The Wings (24-3) blanked Beloit in the Feb. 25 sectional final, 4-0, with a hat trick from Trenton Tucker and four assists by Ian Malcolmson, a Mr. Hockey candidate who missed the previous two games with injury.

That included a 3-2 win over Kettle Moraine on Feb. 21, a 3-2 victory that featured goals from Garrett Wilderman, Kevin Broda and Chad Larsen. Goalie Garrett Larsen made 34 saves.

Waukesha won its opener at last year's state tournament in the program's first trip, 4-2 over Edgewood, then fell to Hudson in the semifinal, 4-1.

The Wings defeated Arrowhead on Feb. 7, 3-1, and shared the Classic 8 Conference title.
