The Waukesha South tennis team fell in the state quarterfinal to Brookfield Central on Friday in the WIAA Division 1 team tournament at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.
Central won the match, 6-1. Riley Teutschmann recorded the lone win for his team at No. 2 singles, defeating fellow junior Tom Foley, 6-3, 6-1. All of the other flights were determined in straight sets. Teutschmann won the sectional title at No. 2 singles earlier this season and finished the year 20-18.
Other members of the state-qualifying Blackshirts team were singles players Jon Arvedson, Zach Buehler and Zach Pitz, and doubles teams Ben Graichen/Hunter Louis, Dustin Schurrer/Michael Tang and Tyler Hipp/Tommy Ebben.
Each of the top three singles players and the Hipp/Ebben team are scheduled back next year.
