Highs and lows of the Pagano-Grigson era

Grigson had been the Colts' general manager since 2012. Last January, he and coach Chuck Pagano each received extensions through the 2019 season.

Grigson's tenure in Indianapolis got off to a sterling start, as he took Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick in his first draft and the team went 11-5 in each of his first three seasons. When the Colts reached the AFC Championship Game in 2014, the franchise looked to be on the precipice of a breakout.

But Indianapolis followed that season with a disappointing 8-8 campaign the following year. Pagano and Grigson were given extensions, but the Colts once again went 8-8 this season and missed the playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since 1998.
