Bartelt Takes Home Three Wisconsin Remodeler of the Year Awards

Jan. 22, 2013

Bartelt. The Remodeling Resource, a premier, family-owned remodeling firm specializing in residential and commercial design and construction, won three Wisconsin Remodeler of the Year Awards (WRAs) on Friday, January 18, 2013. The team won a Gold award for the Entire House $250,001 - $500,000 category, a Gold award for the Disaster Restoration-Fire category, and a Bronze award for the Residential Bath Over $60,000 category.

"We are very proud of this achievement," said Rick Bartelt, owner. "These awards are the result of the creativity and dedication of the entire team, including our designers, carpenters, production staff, trade partners, and customers."

The Wisconsin Remodeler of the Year Awards is an annual event hosted by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). It is an opportunity to honor the outstanding work its members have accomplished throughout the year.

Bartelt entered three projects, each with unique components. The entire house remodel returned an 1800s Victorian lake home from a four-family residence back to a single-family home. The remodel included gutting and reconfiguring the first and second floors to update the home while staying within the original footprint. The project features a kitchen conducive to entertaining, fireplace restorations, custom cabinetry, and other unique details.

The disaster restoration home was destroyed by fire, experiencing damage throughout all of the living spaces. Besides repairing the fire damage, the homeowner also wanted to convert the standard ranch to fit a more modern lifestyle. It features a new mudroom, family room addition, and more curb appeal.

The residential bathroom remodel turned a generic master bath into a dynamic, spa-like space. The layout was improved, and the footprint was expanded. It includes an oval soaking tub and shower with granite and porcelain- and marble-filled mosaic tiles, a custom, furniture-style vanity, and quality fixtures.

Founded in 1984, Bartelt. The Remodeling Resource has won local, regional, and national industry awards, including a 2012 Regional "Contractor of the Year" (CotY) award presented by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). With in-house designers, production staff, and expert carpenters, Bartelt is a member of the Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council, Inc. and Metropolitan Builders Association.
