United Way Connects the Community to Volunteer Opportunities
(February 8, 2013) – Waukesha, WI – United Way in Waukesha County would like to invite volunteers to the following opportunities:
Social Media Intern/Volunteer, Waukesha
Do you have social media experience and knowledge? Do you love Facebook and Twitter? The United Way in Waukesha County has just the position for you. A Social Media Intern/Volunteer position has opened up at the United Way. This internship will focus on planning and implementing various social media related projects and events for United Way in Waukesha County. Responsibilities include: assisting in overseeing social media activities, manage and coordinate activities such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube, research and implement potential trivia or other social media contests, generate creative content to reach more users and create more activity, etc. Students may receive credit for this position and this internship will be approximately 10 hours a week. Goodwill Boston Store Donation Attendant, Greater Milwaukee Area
Help make the Goodwill Sale at the Boston Store a success! Goodwill Industries needs volunteers to accept donations from customers who bring in their gently used clothing and household linens. Distribute one Boston Store discount for every item donated. Two volunteers are needed for each 3 to 4 hour shift. The sale is scheduled for March13-30, 2013; hours are from 10am to 9pm on Monday-Saturday and 11am-7pm on Sundays. Sign up early and choose your shift. The Boston stores in Grand Avenue Mall, Bayshore, Mayfair, Southridge, Brookfield and Racine are participating. Volunteers must be a minimum of 13 years old, friendly, polite, and may require some physical activity.

Camp Pow Wow Clean Up & Preparation, Menomonee Falls
ARCh is seeking a group of people, 18 and over, to help them clean and organize their campsite, lodge and garage at camp. ARCh Camp Pow Wow is a summer experience for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities. The camp offers a ton of different opportunities for campers, which, in turn, uses up a lot of space. Help ARCh get that space cleaned and organized so campers can enjoy another year. Volunteer groups would preferably be over the age of 18 and choose a date to work from 4/26 to 5/3. For more information call Nancy Towle at (262) 542-9811 x13.

Can You Help With a Computer Project? Waukesha:
One-two volunteers are needed to assist with the creation of a resource page for The Waukesha Co. Dept. of Health & Human Services agency’s social work department. The resources will already be provided; volunteers are just needed for their expertise to help put the page online. Volunteers will need to initially help create the links online and then provide an hour or two of weekly support to staff once the pages are set-up. Volunteers can work on site, or from home. Training and explanation will take place at the agency in Waukesha. If you know about computers, and are looking for a flexible opportunity, this might be for you!
