United Way Connects the Community to Volunteer Opportunities
(March 8, 2013) – Waukesha, WI – United Way in Waukesha County would like to invite volunteers to the following opportunities:
Rangers Coordinator, Waukesha
Do you have experience leading the young men of America? Do you want to help make a difference? The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help coordinate and lead their "Rangers" group of 12+ young men, Wednesdays from 4:00-7:00pm. The Salvation Army has a scouting-type program on Wednesdays evenings. Dinner is included. A criminal background check is a must and participants should enjoy working with children, and have experience in "scouting" programs, preferably. Men are strongly encouraged to apply for this position and they must be 18 years or older.

Petite Picassos, Waukesha
Explore your inner painter and assist or lead a group of 15-20 girls in grades 2-3 during the Girl Scouts of SE Wisconsin’s Petite Picasso Event. Get inspired and paint the day away. Help girls explore all the painting possibilities and discover which way and what they like to paint. Choose one or more of the following event sessions:
Thursday, March 14, 4:30-7:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 16, 9:00-11:30 a.m.
Saturday, March 16, 12:30-3:00 p.m.
Events may require additional set up and clean up time beyond the scheduled event. The staff members will provide a detailed confirmation prior to the event. Volunteers must be a minimum age of 18 years old. All volunteers also must complete a brief application and background check.

Musical Entertainer, Waukesha
Do you play a musical instrument and need to find some practice time? The seniors at the Waukesha Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center would love to hear you play for them, Monday-Thursday from 4:30pm - 5:30 PM. If this opportunity sounds great, but the time do not work, the Center is more than happy to work around your schedule. Musical volunteers must be 18 years or older to participate.

Animal Foster Home, Brookfield
If you have a love of animals and space in your heart for a few extra friends, The Elmbrook Humane Society animals need you! Volunteers are needed to foster animals from their shelter in your homes throughout the year, and start up supplies would be provided. Foster homes are especially needed for kittens that need feeding and/or shy dogs that need socialization. Training and support is provided by their staff.
Requirements of this opportunity are: volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years old, willing to complete an application process and demonstrate a commitment to the health and welfare of animals.
