June 29, 2009 | 0 comments

The Waukesha County Fair Board is proud to recognize and appoint Betty Otter as the 2009 Honorary Fair Marshal for the 167th Annual Waukesha County Fair, sponsored by Aurora Health Care. The 2009 Fair will run from July 15 to July 19 on the Waukesha County Expo Grounds. Recognition of Otter’s achievements will be made at the start of the County Executive & Fair Marshal’s Annual Livestock Auction held in the Livestock Tent, Friday, July 17 at 6 pm. The County Executive and Fair Marshal’s Annual Livestock Auction is sponsored by The Waukesha Recycling Company.

Betty has been involved with the 4-H of Waukesha County for 42 years, when the first of her five children decided to join. She held such roles as promotion committee member, project leader, organization leader and chairman. Betty maintains her involvement with 4-H, handling data entry and bookkeeping, serves as an endowment fund trustee and represents the state on the 4-H Adult Leader Council.

In her spare time, Betty also volunteers on many of the committees including the Waukesha County Fair Association, Fair Book, youth exhibits, silent auction and judging. “I love seeing the excitement of the youth at judging time,” says Betty. “The Fair offers families wonderful entertainment at an affordable price.”

The Waukesha County Fair Association is a non-profit volunteer organization that is completely separate and receives no funding from Waukesha County or the City of Waukesha. The 167th Waukesha County Fair, sponsored by Aurora Health Care, will be July 15 thru July 19, on the Waukesha Expo Grounds. Advance Adult Admission and Main Stage VIP Seating tickets are available NOW online at WaukeshaCountyFair.com. Tickets at the gate will be: Adults $9, Children 6-12 $3, and children 5 and under, FREE.
